Twelve Frustrating Ways to Lose a Football Game

It's football season again, so that can only mean one thing - get ready for some frustration! Even if your favorite high school, college, or pro team is top-notch, chances are they'll suffer several frustrating losses before the season is over. Some ways of losing are just more frustrating than others. Therefore, I have compiled a list of twelve of the more frustrating ways that games can be lost. Many of these are actual ways in which my favorite team, the Washington Redskins, have lost games in the past. So, here we go:

1) Your team collapses and blows the game after having built a seemingly insurmountable lead.

2) Your team is down by 20 or more points and almost completely closes the gap, except for the last field goal or touchdown they need but just can't quite get.

3) Your team maintains a small lead for most of the game, while failing to cash in on multiple easy opportunities the other team gives them to extend the lead and/or put the game away. Instead, they let the other team continue to hang around. The other team, meanwhile, gets very few scoring opportunities, except for the one near the end of the game, when they score and take the lead for good.

4) The other team maintains a lead for the entire game. Every time your team scores to get within a touchdown or field goal, the other team also scores to extend the lead again. This scenario is repeated over and over again throughout most of the game. In the last few minutes of the game, your team finally stops the other team from extending the lead and gets the ball back with a chance to win, but then the other team finally stops your team.

5) Your team dominates almost every aspect of the game - rushing yards, passing yards, total offense, and total defense - but too many turnovers prevent them from winning.

6) Your team's offense is an irresistible force, pounding the other team's defense into submission - until they get inside the red zone, that is. Then they freeze up like a block of ice, unable to score touchdowns and missing many of their field goal attempts. Of course, the other team scores every time they get inside your team's 40-yard line.

7) After nothing has gone right the entire day, it looks as if your team is going to win in spite of everything, as they score a touchdown to move ahead with little or no time left on the clock. But wait - what's that yellow thing lying in the end zone? Oh no, a penalty flag! The touchdown is being called back because of a penalty. Your team loses.

8) Your team, starting from inside their own 10-yard line with under two minutes left, miraculously is able to march more than 90 yards down the field and score a touchdown to capture (or re-capture) the lead. Pandemonium erupts on their sideline as your team begins to celebrate. But the celebration goes a bit too far and your team is penalized 15 years for unsportsmanlike conduct, assessed on the ensuing kickoff. But that shouldn't be a problem though, as there are only 20 seconds left on the clock and besides, the other team has no timeouts left. However, they return the short-field kickoff inside your team's 40-yard line with eight seconds left. Then, with a quick sideline pass, they get inside your team's 30 and out of bounds with one second left. On the final play of the game, they kick a long field goal to win.

9) With your team down late in the game, it looks as if they are finally going to get the ball back for one last chance to win. It's fourth down for the other team and they are about to punt from the 50-yard line. In an attempt to come away with better field position, your team goes for the block and it works! However, someone on the other team picks up the ball behind the line of scrimmage and runs for a first down. The other team then proceeds to run out the clock.

10) Due to the fact that your team wasted all of their second-half timeouts in the third quarter, the clock runs out just before they can set up to kick what probably would have been a game-winning field goal. Instead, they lose by two points. To add insult to injury, you recall that they also lost a chance to kick a field goal at the end of the first half due to poor clock management.

11) As your team sadly walks off the field following a 24-23 loss, your mind returns to early in the fourth quarter when your team had briefly taken a 26-10 lead. But 26-10? How could someone have taken three points away from them? They didn't - your team gave them back voluntarily. On a play when your team's place-kicker had nailed a perfect 45-yard field goal, one of the other team's linemen was flagged for being offside. Since it was fourth down and four from other team's 28-yard line, taking the points off the board and accepting the penalty would give your team a first down. It seemed like a good idea at the time, so that's exactly what your team's coach decided to do. After all, it was a chance to run some more time off the clock and possibly score a touchdown. Besides, your team would likely have another shot at the field goal later, if the drive stalled again. Of course, who would have guessed that the other team would intercept a pass three plays later and take it all the way back for a touchdown? Another touchdown with time running out would seal your team's fate.

12) With your team leading by one point late in the third quarter, the other team's quarterback uncorks a pass from his own 40-yard line toward your team's goal line. Instead of knocking the ball down, one of your team's cornerbacks decides to intercept it before stepping out of bounds at the one-foot line. On the next play, your team's fullback is tackled in the end zone for a safety. That puts the other team up by one, which is the final margin of your team's loss.

Laptop computers are great portable offices, and as technology increases and speeds of computers increase, we are seeing battery life also increase and provide longer usage time with out the need to be “plugged in.”

But occasionally, as business travelers, who need to be plugged in, it can be hard to find an outlet and one may be stranded to only use the internal juice in your computer.

Most laptop batteries last about 2 hours on a full charge, but I found a couple of creative ways to turn those 2 hours into 3 or even 4 hours of pure usage time, with out having to buy more gadgets to fill up or weigh down my briefcase.

Here are two really simple things you can do, to prolong your power on your laptop and get more usage out of your charge.

1. Turn off your wireless transmitter

When you are using your laptop with your wireless transmitter, it is always looking for a signal. So by disabling it, in an area where you cannot get any internet access via wireless, it will actually conserve your battery life.

2. Lower Your Screen Contrast

Most people don’t think about this one.

But if you usually have your laptop monitor set at the highest and brightest contrast, your computer is working the hardest.

If you simply lower your contrast in half to make it less brighter, you will find you can still see the interfaces on your computer very well.

By doing this in a bright area, you may have trouble if your bightness “whites out” too much.

But in a dark airplane for example, lowering your contrast and brightness in half can actually make it easier to see your screen and make it less bright and even more enjoyable for your passenger sitting next to you, to not have a bright laptop light shining in their face.

Using these two simple powersavers can possible let your laptop power cycle jump from 2 hours to 3 or even 4 hours.

I bought Samsung Digimax A40 last month, and oh God, it sucks! I should've remember that most cheap products don't come with a good perfomance. Well, I'm not sure whether this new digital camera from Pentax, the Optio WP20, will be much better than my poor A40 or not, but it does offer some interesting features. It has 21MB of onboard memory with SDHC card support, and more importantly, this digicam is waterproof. Means, when holiday comes, you can have some fun on the beach or lake with this camera without having to worry about the water. It can even stand up to 30 minutes under water so you can take a picture of the fishes, corals, and so on.

No words on pricing of the Optio WP20 digital camera yet.

The construction of the Z540 clamshell seems very stable and solid. The solid feeling is assisted by the metal or metal-like plastic that the phone is made of. Samsung Z540 has almost the same features with Motorola E1070; this phone doesn’t catch fingerprints easily. The keypad of the phone is almost absolutely flat but is still easy to use and you can easily distinguish the different buttons. The backlighting of the keypad is rather poor though. It glows in white, the backlight is even, but doesn’t seem to be enough. The buttons remain hardly visible.

The outer display of the phone is a TFT and has a 128 x 128 pixels resolution. It boasts 64K colors. In standby mode it shows the network coverage, the current ringing profile, the battery status and the time. The main attraction, however, is the main display. The 256K colors QVGA display is very good. It’s large enough and the colors are very vivid. Even in direct sunlight, the display stays very clear and legible. The backlighting of the display is very good, too.

The reception quality is very good and the sound during calls is nice too. The battery life is not bad for such a slim phone it is a 1000 mAh Li-Ion battery, if you want longer battery cycles, you should use it in GSM-only mode

The phone has approximately 150 MB internal memory and that seems enough for about two full music albums. The memory is shared thus it’s used for music, videos, games, messages, etc. The phone book capacity is 1000 contact names and it orders them either by first or by last name The SMS editor displays a counter of the characters left and starts the countdown from 1836 characters. There is a T9 dictionary to assist fast writing. Email messages cannot exceed the 1000 characters maximum capacity.

The media player of the Samsung Z540 in MP3, ACC, WMA and ACC+ file format. It also supports Play lists and ID3 tags. Headphones can be connected via the USB port. Usability of the device as a MP3 player is limited, because of the lack of memory card slot. The 1.3 mega pixel camera can record video clips in QCIF resolution (176 x 144 pixels). The digital zoom can be used during the record, but it results in annoying delays in the clips.

The phone features UMTS and EDGE which makes it an ordinary 3G device capable of fast data transfers. Other connectivity options are Bluetooth and USB. The USB may only be used with a custom data cable. The Bluetooth connection works seamlessly. PC synchronization was a piece of cake using Bluetooth. Regrettably, there is no Infrared connectivity feature which makes connecting with older mobiles and other devices more difficult. The web browser of the phone has many options and features but even when set to use the smallest font size available it couldn’t accommodate much information on the QVGA screen. There is a URL remembering feature which helps the user when typing an address. There seems to be a memory problem with the browser as it says the memory is low and cannot load all the images when trying to open larger pages.

Finally we can say Samsung Z540 has some great features and very good hardware characteristics. The stylish design, good display and camera, music features and fast interface puts it in really good position for the customers. However, the lack of memory card slot and Infrared, the slow camera response and the confusing navigation button are significant drawbacks for the model.

This laptop, measures 331 x 278 x 28.5 mm and weighs 2.8kg, is powered by an Intel Celeron M 380 (1.63GHz) processor and 256MB of RAM. Its 15-inch XGA display is engined by ATi Radeon XPress 20M chipset and able to support up to 1024 x 768 screen resolution. Motorola Q Description:

The Motorola Franklin RAZR is a rumoured Motorola handset which will be running on the Windows Smartphone platform. The Franklin RAZR is planned to be either the same thickness and weight as the very popular V3 RAZR or even thinner!

A Mini SD slot will be included so that you can expand your Franklins memory to accomodate the biggest of MP3 Files or images.

The Motorola Franklin has been given Quad-band capabilities so that the handset can be used almost everywhere on the globe.

Bluetooth and Infra-red connectivity is also included in the Motorola Franklin RAZR so you can communicate wirelessly with a bluetooth headset or use the RAZR as an optional modem for a laptop..
